Sheila Salmon
Hailing originally from Yorkshire, Sheila developed a passion for travel early in her career and, after spending seven years living in Belgium, working as a local guide, she has now been travelling for over thirty years. A keen Francophile, who also speaks Flemish, French and German, Sheila now divides her time between France and the UK when not away travelling.
Joining Noble Caledonia in 2006 Sheila was delighted to be able to put her long experience of cruising on the European rivers - Rhine, Main, Elbe, Mosel, Danube and Rhone to good use on board the MV Johann Strauss, Johannes Brahms, Royal Crown and several other vessels working both as tour manager and cruise director. Opportunities on board Noble Caledonia’s Island Sky enabled her to build up an extensive knowledge of areas such as the Egypt, Libya, Eritrea, the UAE and especially Jordan where Sheila led several land tours prior to joining the ship in Aqaba. She has enjoyed wonderful opportunities not only getting to know the Noble Caledonia passengers but being able to share with them such diverse regions as the Baltic, the Black Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean. Familiar with the Far East and China, having led numerous land tours and cruises in the region, Sheila is now looking forward to continuing to build on her experience of the newly awakening country of Myanmar during some of the Irrawaddy cruises.
